FIDDLE IN THE MIDDLE OF TEXAS

If you are Texan, then you know the feeling you get when you leave our state for a while. You head back home and after you touch down on Texas soil or you cross that state line, it feels like such a relief to be back home (back in Texas).  It makes me smile every time. Ahhh, Texas.

I live in the middle of Texas and I am a fiddle player,  but this song also refers to just generally fiddling around living my life in the middle of Texas.   I ended up in a band a few years back and I literally became the “fiddle in the middle”  of my band!

Fiddle in the Middle of Texas

1.  Stood on top of that Empire State,

oh that view was really great

Headed downstairs for a Broadway show,

"Beauty and the Beast", I just had to go.

Didn’t quite make it to Central Park,

It was getting’ kinda late and a little bit dark

Took a taxi ride on to Times Square,

‘fore I headed back for some Texas air.

Chorus

Then I headed on back

 Gotta get back

 It’s a long way back   ....

 2.  Swimmin’ in the Mediterranean Sea,

What a beautiful place to be

So much to see ridin’ on a train,

All across Germany, France, and Spain.

The Eiffel Tower was really high,

Had to get to the top before we said good bye

When Mona Lisa looked right at me,

She smiled when she saw the Texan in me.

Chorus

Then I headed on back

 Gotta get back

 It’s a long way back   ....

to Fiddle in the middle of Texas

  1. I love this, especially the Mona Lisa line. Very creative. I went to New York in 2011 so I could relate to that part of your song. Hope to hear you play that fiddle in the middle in person someday.

  2. I just love this song! Such a fun vibe to it. I am also a collector of suns. I have several in my backyard and around my house. The sun reminds me of the sunshine you bring to so many lives!
