Rain hitting the metal gutter outside my apartment distracts me from writing, from working, from\u2026
Rain’s older sister, the wind, blows her in whichever direction she chooses. I can hear the discussion between the two, now. What a ruckus they make.
In a matter of minutes though, they\u2019ve brokered a peace deal\u2026or perhaps it is a cease fire.
Drip…drip…drip…drip…drip
I wonder where that drip is going, to which locale does she travel? Which blade of grass will she feed?
Will she find her way into my apartment as she or her siblings have done twice before? Will her auntie force her closer to or farther away? I send out a silent prayer to the Elements to keep my floors dry, during this time of \u201csit and stay\u201d\u2026I have not the energy to rush about.

I hear a cow bell being tapped, a distant sound\u2026this is not like the \u201cMORE COW BELL!!\u201d song\u2026it is her introverted daughter that helps to stealthily feed Mother Earth, but can still wreck havoc on the ears.

Birds do not sing during a rainstorm. Is this their time to listen, instead of speak? Drip, drip, drip, drip\u2026drip\u2026the methodical rain\u2026the deep enriching rain.
Drip\u2026.drip.\u2026drip.\u2026my heart rate slows to match her beat\u2026eyes close\u2026.brain\u2026.quiets\u2026.
Sister Wind is quieting as well\u2026
I just heard a bird tweet\u2026gratitude for the coolness, and the life giving drops.
The Elements are fulfilled\u2026they breathe a collective sigh of relief\u2026
I am among them…Inhaling\u2026.Exhaling\u2026
The drops are no more; but I can hear the wind continuing to tease her sister.
