My heart is heavy today. I found out one of my peeps\u2026one of my Purple Peterson Peeps has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is only 16. I taught this young man in Kindergarten. He\u2019s a favorite. Who am I kidding, they all are really. I meant it when I said, Once a Purple Peep, ALWAYS a Purple Peep. ALWAYS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This morning, I felt like I had been punched in the gut, like the wind had been knocked out of me. I reached out to my McG peeps who had also taught my sweet guy! We all felt the same shock. I also reached out to my prayer warriors to cover this family in prayer. Of course, they were on it immediately!

I read his Mom\u2019s post several times. As I reread her words of feeling great peace, I was overcome with a peace about the entire situation. They are a family of great faith. Yes, I am sure they are very concerned about the battle they will be fighting with their son. But, they have great peace. If they can find peace, I can find peace as well. It doesn\u2019t make my heart less heavy\u2026but it does help me to carry that weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve not been able to get them off my mind all day. It\u2019s made me stop and think about how life can change in an instant. How very silly my first world problems. How blessed I am. How fortunate I am to have the relationships I have with my peeps and their families. Today has made me thankful for the problems I do not have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please pray for my Purple Peep and his family as they walk this journey together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
