The pandemic has split people\nSplit homes\nSplit families\u00a0\nSplit relationships with beloved cities\u00a0\nSplit mask-wearing willingness\u00a0\nSplit couples\nSplit money into pieces\nSplit society\u00a0\nGrew society too\nSplit safety in everyday existence\u00a0\nSplit certainty\u00a0\nSplit human lives\nSplit human immunity\u00a0\nSplit careers in half\nSplit jobs\nSplit housing prices\nSplit up the world we knew last year, at the \nnew year, on my birthday, 9 days before \nthe quarantine order\nSplit tolerance for people you once loved\nSplit up everything in this world.\n\nStop tearing the truth apart\nStop tearing the world up\u00a0\nStop raising our temperatures\nStop cruelty and useless violence\nStop abusing guns\nStop burning our forests\nStop killing black people\nStop robbing the financial possibility of \n\"snowflake\" young people so they can afford \nto live in cities they love\nStop electing and believing narcissists\nStop abusing our beloved democracy\u00a0\nStop arresting protesters who are trying \nto do the right thing\nStop praising the wrongdoings and writing \noff the good work of the righteous\u00a0\nStop systemic racism in America\u00a0\nStop killing older people\nAnd start caring about those who need \nit the most: those who weren\u2019t born with the \n\u201cluxuries\u201d that come with being a white \nstraight male.\u00a0\nStart bridging the gap between the WOMBen \nwho made you, and men like you, who can\u2019t \nbear a human.\u00a0\nStart education on the things of concern.\u00a0\nStart researching how you can unite \nthe country, like you say you want.\nStart the process of making sure BIPOC are \ncared for, listened to, feeling understood, \nfeeling loved for who they are, paid wages \nequal to whites, guaranteed access to \nquality health care, feeling safer in their \nneighborhoods and homes with a new \nand reformed police system.\u00a0\nGive them a hand. Let them hold it. \nLet them know there\u2019s another ally on their \nside, sympathetic and caring about their collective \nstruggles, knowing that they need a booster to \nthe life they deserve.\nGive them a piece of your privilege. \nYou are lucky that you already have the privilege, \nso give a piece of the luck to someone who doesn\u2019t \nhave it in their blood, so they can do phenomenal \nthings with their lives too. \nThey would greatly appreciate it and benefit \nfrom your generosity. \nYour own heart will sing too, \nsimply because you made someone else\u2019s \nlife happier.\nGive them a piece of your heart.\nThey need it so badly right now.\nBecause you have these things, they \ndeserve them too. \nWe\u2019re all human and deserving of these basic \nnecessities to live a quality life on this planet.\u00a0\nYou have these things, so why \nwouldn\u2019t you want someone else to have \nthem too? \nThere\u2019s more than enough room \nin this world for love. For more love to be \ngiven. For more love to be made. For more people \nto live the lives they\u2019ve dreamed, so their \ndreams don\u2019t stay a dream for the rest of existence. \nFor more people to receive the necessities \nto create the lives they dream. \nSo they don\u2019t have to work as hard as they \ndo to get the paycheck you have.\u00a0\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n

 \ud83d\udcf8 @iamaly \u2022 George Floyd was buried 15 minutes away from my house. His funeral was half an hour away. Some people wonder why he was buried in Houston: he grew up and spent most of his cut-short 46 years here. His death is a warning call. A wake-up call. I stand in solidarity with my whole heart, mind, body, and soul. I don\u2019t totally understand in the ways that POC do, but I will make my best efforts to make sure that your experiences are listened to. They are all valid and are real. I can understand to a certain point living with invisible mental conditions, but it doesn\u2019t quite measure up to POC\u2019s experiences based on their skin color. I hear you. I hear you.
