Trying to Look On the Bright Side

Lately things have not been going our way. Today was no exception. My car met an untimely death with a gust of wind, rain and a tree large branch. I think Penelope will be totaled.

As sad as I am about my car, I’m more sad about the loss of my independence. My ability to go and do and try to create a life in Maine. Which I had just started doing this month since snow mountain finally melted and I could get my car out.

So, I’m trying to look at the bright side.
*I wasn’t in the car when the tree branch came down.

*It wasn’t Bixby’s brand new truck…less than a month old

*Bixby can drop me off at the Y on his way to badge in 3 days a week…I’ll just have to adjust my schedule to match his.

*We have insurance.

*I am safe.

*I am warm and dry…now…not so much earlier when trying to cover Penelope to keep the rain from pouring in.

*I will eventually get my independence back.

*Thankfully it wasn’t a renters car.

*Bixby was able to find a place on the island to get a tarp to cover the car.

*The birds are enjoying playing in the rain.

*The sun will eventually come out.

This too shall pass…probably like a kidney stone…but it will pass.

May your day be better than mine!

lp
