Poetry for A Poet
How do you write poetry for a poet
Who gently fell asleep,
A soul so sweet and loving,
Her compassion and understanding ran deep.
She was more like Jesus
Than anyone I knew,
You could always count on her
To be faithful, honest and true.
She wrote poetry like the wind
That would blow gently through your mind
And bring you to a different place
Where a sense of her love you’d find.
She was a lover of children and animals
Not to mention her love for the sea,
With a kind word or a soft caress
She’d make the world a better place to be.
If she could have tomorrow
What blessing could I bring
That would make it worth her time
Just to pen another beautiful rhyme.
Parting ways is always hard to do
As death will take us all,
But we know she lives forever
As she faithfully obeyed God’s call.
Now she writes her poems in heaven
About the angels and their songs,
She is whole and free and happy
As she lives among His throngs.
Please Lord, when you take me
Lead me where the angels fly,
So I can be with my Janie
In the sweet by and by.

What a lovely and heartfelt tribute. I love that you wrote it as a poem for a poet. Sending you healing for your own heart….
Thank you, Cindye. She was an angel on earth and I miss her terribly. God bless.
