Soul has been defined
When you look back will you be ashamed
Which side of history you claimed

wired in a wireless world
coffee with extra shots to be upright
work extra hours no extra pay
do more with less figure it out someway
anxiety on an all time high
keeping up, running till we die
wonder why our souls break
and our bodies breakdown

what are you doing in the pause
2 lines stopping the play of cause
its not a dash between 2 years
temporary, on hold till we are clear
just a blinking yellow light
no green, no red, no end in sight
temporary, hold on

how did any prayers get through
and others who prayed didn’t get to you
is that why he returned safe and sound
while 4 lives didn’t make it home bound
did you really need more good ones
to lay bricks in Heaven
when that IED blasted how did you decide
who would stay and which others to take to the other side
why were we the lucky ones
to greet our Marine when the tour was done
