Forgiveness is freedom.
I am so unaware.
The beauty of ascension,
numb and unrepaired.
My path suddenly paused.
Clocks are moving backwards.
All I know now is
to watch the fire burn.
Mourning relapses time.
The sailboat parks at shore.
Trash and dated pictures
emerge out of the drawers.
Chemicals take their flights.
Mascara tears I sob.
Bed sheets drenched in black
as sorrow begins to throb.
The last battle cry called,
“It’s time to forgive me.”
Broken hearts surrender
to a force, quiet and keen.
Poisonous clouds have cleared,
The past is a setting sun,
Body and soul reunite,
At last, I finally won.
You are such an old and wise soul. Thank you for sharing your incredible poetry with us. LYS
