Left turn…
Traveling, we took a left turn so to speak.
Pot holes, bumps and sweeping S curves.
We travel on through the back roads of Wills Point.
Sweet chatter, long missing from our lives.
Tales of family, friends, and struggles.
Onward we go to visit our friends.
Celebratory meal and a bottle of wine,
All on hand as we pass cart and horse.
Eyes wide open, what a sight.
Ms Burnett welcomes us with open arms.
Sweet words and heart felt gratitude.
An open invitation to explore.
We travel on through the back yards of Wills Point.
Holes, bumps and rustling trees.
Traveling, we took a left turn so to speak.
SIDEBAR: If you look closely at these photos from the road trip Lisa and I took on July 4th to deliver a celebratory anniversary dinner to our favorite person (our boss), we found time to breathe in the space and soak in the country. I surely do miss the country and back roads and pot holes, and dirt roads, and bumps and all that comes with it. Look closely at the pictures and you will see what appears to be a “shout out” to Hendrix with donkey in the forefront…I am going to say that is definitely a “shout out” to Terri Hendrix!! And then behold the shot of the cowboy…what do you see in the shadows? I know what I see…may you be blessed to find the joys of this life in the most unlikely LEFT TURNS!!
Back roads and good friends are simply the best!
Lana is gonna love this, she’s a Wills Point girl. What a great way to soak up the day, to breathe a different environment, to see the unseen and likely taken for granted and share it with us. I am grateful.
OMG Patricia, you’re in MY BACKYARD, my family, my hometown, my roots! Isn’t it a great countryside to explore. Someday I’ll have to take you to my family farm and enjoy the greatness together. Thank you for sharing this.
MUUAAHHH let’s take a road trip!
Patricia, You made me feel like I was traveling with you. Loved the photos!
